Mitsubishi Fuso FK200:
- Mitsubishi Fuso sells a full line of low cab forward trucks covering the same weight categories and customer needs as Isuzu's N-Series trucks
- FK200 is a 19,995 lb. GVWR competing against NRR. It uses a powerful 6-cylinder engine. The FK200 engine produces 243 hp and 514 lb.-ft. of torque
- Low-profile frame sits 36 in. off the ground
- Larger cab than used on FE series Mitsubishi-Fuso trucks
NRR Advantages Over Mitsubishi Fuso FK200:
- Approximately $10,000 lower MSRP for NRR compared with FK200
- Efficient 4-cylinder engines on N-Series have plenty of power for LCF uses, and are recognized for excellent fuel economy (6-cylinder diesel is used on FK200)
- Short WB/CA choices available (109-in. and 132.5-in. WB available on NRR, vs. 168.1-in. WB for the shortest FK200)
- Lighter truck weight results in higher payload and greater economy of operation. The NRR with side-mounted fuel tank and 129.4 in. CA weighs 6073 lb., vs. 7560 lb. for the base FK200 with 128.5 in. CA)
- Rear shock absorbers help control ride on rough surfaces and body lean for high CG loads (not available on FK)
- Full hydraulic brake system is simple and reliable. FK200 uses air-over-hydraulic drum brakes, requiring an air pump, air tanks and air dryer
- Standard cruise control vs. no cruise control
- Oil check switch allows driver to check oil level from inside cab without starting engine. Not available on FK200
- Audible engine warning system alerts driver to engine problems such as high coolant temperature or low oil pressure or level. Not available on FK200
- Large diameter front disc brakes for powerful stopping with heavy loads or in demanding driving conditions (front drum brakes on FK)
- Longer warranty on frame can help control service and repair costs (36 months/unlimited mileage with 100% coverage and 36 to 60 months/unlimited mileage with 50% coverage vs. 48 months/unlimited mileage)
- Longer, more comprehensive roadside assistance helps reduce downtime and contributes to service cost control (36 months/unlimited mileage vs. 24 months/unlimited mileage, towing only on FK)
- Isuzu Commercial Truck of America powertrain warranty includes engines, transmissions, axles, driveshafts and universal joints. Mitsubishi powertrain warranty only includes engines and transmissions
- Fold-down center seat section provides handy workstation (No center seat available on FK200)
- 6-speed Aisin automatic transmission vs. 5-speed automatic on Mitsubishi results in improved performance and fuel efficiency
