F-550 Super Duty:
- While the conventional cab F-550 is a different configuration than the low cab forward NRR, it is the dominant product in class 5.

NRR Advantages Over F-550 Super Duty:
- Longer maximum CA and CE dimensions on longest wheelbase allows NRR to handle longer bodies (24 ft. vs. 16 ft.)
- Ford's 19,995 lb. GVWR is only available on 201-in. WB trucks, while NRR is available with 19,500 lb. GVWR on all wheelbase lengths
- High-capacity front taperleaf springs provide excellent ride quality with long-term durability (8840 lb. taperleaf vs. 6000 lb. coil springs on Ford)
- High-capacity rear springs for long-term durability (14,550 lb. vs. 13,500 lb.)
- Variable ratio power steering for quicker, easier maneuverability (vs. constant ratio on F-550 Super Duty)
- Tighter turning diameter (curb-to-curb) for comparable cab-to-axle ratio results in much better maneuverability and time saved on the job site (45.3 ft./120-in. CA vs. 57.9 ft./120-in. CA)
- Large, retractable West Coaststyle mirrors for driver vision (small, foldaway camper-style mirrors on F-550 Super Duty)
- Wider door opening for easy entry and exit (85 degrees vs. 60 degrees)
- Durable tricot breathable woven seat material for comfort and durability (Standard vinyl on F-550; cloth optional on F-550 Super Duty)
- Standard tilt and telescopic steering column (optional tilt steering wheel on F-550)
- Tilt cab allows easy engine access (limited engine access through hood on F-550 Super Duty)
- Higher frame yield strength contributes to long-term durability (44,000 psi vs. 36,000 psi)
- Greater visibility with larger windshield, larger side windows, larger side mirrors and lower dash for greater driver vision and safety
- Fold-down passenger's seat and center seat with tray standard, for convenience (not available on F-550 Super Duty)
- Battery box on frame rails of NRR helps extend battery life by removing batteries from hot under-hood area, used by Ford
- Standard exhaust brake to help extend brake life (not available on F-550 Super Duty)
- Diesel engine is standard, for added value (optional on F-550 Super Duty)
- 6-speed Aisin automatic transmission vs. 5-speed Ford automatic
