Isuzu Diesel Truck Features
Isuzu trucks provide you with the features you need to help drive up productivity while driving down your cost of ownership. Our engines are legendary for their power, economy and long life. Our frames accommodate a wide range of body applications. Our low-cab-forward design provides remarkable maneuverability and visibility.
All 2014 diesel models meet EPA 2010 and California Air Resources Board HD-OBD emissions standards and are clean-idle certified. Isuzu N-Series diesel trucks are also the first in their class to offer Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology with Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF).
So whether you are a small business operator with a single vehicle or you manage an entire fleet, you need trucks that will do more while costing less to operate -- and at Isuzu, that's the only kind of trucks we sell.
There's an Isuzu truck for virtually any medium-duty need.
Trucks with wheelbases from 109 to 212 inches can accommodate bodies ranging from 10 to 24 feet in length.
Clean, Powerful and Efficient Truck Engines
Isuzu diesel engines can run up to 10,000 miles between oil changes, minimizing downtime for maintenance. Both diesel engines that come standard in all Isuzu diesel trucks feature a B-10 life of 310,000 miles, meaning, 90% of our engines will still be operating normally at this high mileage.
Isuzu 4JJ1-TC 3.0-liter diesel
Isuzu 4HK1-TC 5.2-liter diesel
Standard on NPR ECO-MAX.
The 4JJ1-TC 3.0L 150 horsepower turbocharged intercooled diesel engine is as clean as it is efficient. Provides the highest fuel economy in Class 3 (10,000 GVW - 14,000 GVW).
Proven Aisin Automatic Transmission
Standard on every Isuzu N-Series truck is an Aisin heavy-duty six-speed automatic transmission with PTO capability, engineered to work with the Isuzu diesel engine to achieve optimal performance and economy.
Lock-up torque converter
The lock-up torque converter operates in power take-off (PTO) mode. Under specifically determined engine conditions, when PTO mode is selected, the torque converter will lock up automatically to eliminate slip and deliver more power and better speed control for demanding power take-off applications.
Curb to curb or wall to wall, Isuzu trucks are the most maneuverable in their class -- and are far more nimble than any conventional truck could ever hope to be.
A = Min. turning diameter
B = Min. turning diameter curb to curb
C = Min. turning diameter wall to wall
Tighter turning diameter
Isuzu N-Series trucks reach new levels of maneuverability. The power steering system allows for superior wheel-cut angles and turning ability. As a result, this allows Isuzu trucks to display best in class maneuverability allowing for optimal driver control and functionality.
State-of-the-Art SCR Technology
Together with an enhanced exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system and variable-geometry turbocharger, SCR technology allows all 2014 diesel Isuzu N-Series trucks to meet the demanding emissions standards. This exhaust system also monitors the DPF's particulate status and the level of DEF required for the SCR system to operate, and reports the results to the driver through the Multi-Information Display.
Under normal highway operating conditions, the DPF will regenerate itself automatically to remove particulate matter from the exhaust. Under slow-speed, stop-and-go or long-idle conditions, the system may require and will allow the driver to manually initiate a DPF regeneration cycle manually. See your authorized Isuzu dealer for details.
Only Isuzu offers a custom cab design that maximizes interior space, optimizes comfort and incorporates ingenious productivity and maintenance features.
Multi-Information Display (MID)
Nestled in the instrument cluster of every Isuzu N-Series diesel truck is a new means of monitoring vehicle performance and reducing maintenance costs and downtime -- the Multi-Information Display (MID).
Isuzu offers an MID that alerts drivers to conditions far beyond the scope of typical gauges and warning lights. With the touch of a button, the MID alerts drivers to the status of over a dozen functions:
- Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Level
- Engine Oil & Filter Reminder
- Tire Rotation Reminder
- Fuel Economy Average
- Current Time
All basic maintenance checks can be performed without ever having to tilt the cab:
- The hydraulic brake fluid reservoir and windshield washer fluid container are easily accessible within the cab.
- Fuses are within easy reach and line of site of the driver.
- The truck's engine oil and fuel level can be checked from inside of the cab.
Seating for 3-7 People
Every Isuzu N-Series truck offers three-across seating with ample head, leg and shoulder room. Crew Cab models accommodate an additional four passengers in back.
The center front passenger seat features a fold-down work station that is convenivent for both the driver and passenger. Pockets in the doors, seat backs, and overhead storage provide convenient places to stow paperwork.
Isuzu's Priority Service Maintenance Program (PSMP)
Isuzu's Priority Service Maintenance Program (PSMP) includes preventive maintenance costs with fixed maintenance parts and labor expenses for three to six years, depending on term, mileage and utilization - and it can be wrapped into your lease or finance plan.
Isuzu Vehicle Health Report
Every 2014 Isuzu Diesel N-Series truck incorporates a Data Recording Module (DRM) that monitors your truck's performance and enables your Isuzu Dealer's technicians to produce an Isuzu Vehicle Health Report. The Health Report permits speedy and accurate service diagnosis, identifies component failure and wear history, maximizes vehicle uptime, and gives you the information you need to reduce your fuel usage. By asking your dealer to monitor your truck's performance through Isuzu Vehicle Health Reports, you can reduce your operating costs and increase your truck's long-term residual value.
