The engine offers patented sequential port fuel injection.
This system provides precision fuel control for optimal fuel distribution to each cylinder. One injector
per cylinder is used to deliver fuel through flexible fuel
transport tubes to the inlet port. The precise amount of
fuel is delivered to a fuel atomization nozzle at each cylinder
during each combustion cycle.
The precise control
of fuel by the SFI system improves cold start, hot restart
and fuel control at idle. This system helps the truck engine
achieve its maximum power and torque in an efficient
manner while improving fuel economy. Increased
durability of the fuel atomization nozzles is achived by a
compound installation angle and special coating on the
nozzle.
