The fuel injection system is a Denso common rail type fuel
system. Pressure is supplied by a high pressure pump to
the common rail. Fuel is then distributed to the injectors
which are controlled by the engine Electronic Control
Module (ECM). The injectors deliver the correct amount of
fuel regardless of speed and altitude.
The system is protected from contaminates by a spin-on paper element flow filter. Further protection is afforded by a fuel/water separator that incorporates a dash mounted indicator lamp that notifies the driver when the filter needs the water to be drained. Use only Ultra Low Sulfur diesel fuel grade 2-D (S15); Use only Ultra Low Sulfur diesel fuel grade 1-D S15 ultra low sulfur in cold weather conditions. Due to the fact that the 1-D (S15) has a lower heat value, performance and fuel economy will be slightly affected
