What we needed:
Economical, dependable trucks to deliver paint from our manufacturing plant to retail outlets and from there to customers.
What we bought:
Vista purchases between six and 12 Isuzu trucks per year, usually going with the NPR Gas 14,050 GVW with a 14-foot stake bed body. The company has purchased one Isuzu F-Series truck for its Las Vegas, Nevada, store.
Their total fleet consists of 50 Isuzu trucks.
Why we chose Isuzu Trucks:
"The only thing we do to the trucks is add two extra leaf springs in the rear. This is because the trucks carry about six pallets of paint. As the driver makes his run, he will take, say, 10 gallons of white paint off the right side and 13 gallons of green off the left. So the load is often uneven. Rather than reposition the load all the time, they added the leaf springs. They're not exceeding the truck's payload, only making it more stable."
