Supreme's New Signature BodyPosted: Monday, February 23, 2009 N-Series trucks can now upfit with Supreme’s New Signature Body America’s No. 1 choice for low cab forward trucks just got better. In addition to rolling out its redesigned and retooled standard van body—the SIGNATURE Body—Supreme Corporation has introduced the SIGNATURE Body into the Isuzu Value Pak Program. WHERE IT ALL COMES TOGETHER The Isuzu exclusive Value Pak Program is designed for a quick lead time and offers already-designed SIGNATURE Body models that may currently be in inventory and ready for shipment today. The Value Pak bodies come with the option of plywood or slat interior and include lengths from 12 to 20 feet in Supreme’s SIGNATURE Body, which boasts enhanced durability, improved utility, a more attractive appearance and a number of formerly optional features made standard. NEW DESIGN ENHANCES BODY TOUGHNESS Special attention and improvements to damage-prone areas include a moisture-resistant Todco® ToughShell Roll-Up Door and a taller steel-reinforced rub rail that provides protection from side damage between the cross members. Other standard features of Supreme’s SIGNATURE Body include internal steel gussets in the rear frame to eliminate potential rust and weeping, and a front wall made from Supreme’s own ½-inch core Fiberglass Reinforced Plywood (FRP)—which provides added durability against interior and exterior dents and damage, as well as increased scratch resistance and smoother surfaces for graphics or body wraps. In addition, the SIGNATURE Body substructure is steel framed, a Supreme standard for nearly 35 years, that when combined with the taller side rub rail allow greater toughness and less likelihood of repairs. Integrated steel cross members in the front floor and a lightweight galvanized steel frame in the side walls add muscle in the front of the body, and allow for simpler replacement of complete side walls if damaged. IMPROVED UTILITY WITH ADDED CURB APPEAL Utility has been improved with a wider and taller rear-door opening, enabling easier loading and unloading of cargo. The body’s interior is also wider, longer and taller, providing a true interior length and more cargo capacity than comparable van bodies. In addition to the marked improvements in toughness and utility, the SIGNATURE Body also has a more attractive appearance. Side wall panels are tucked behind the lower rub rail, giving the body a cleaner, more professional look. Close cell tape not only reduces the potential for costly water leaks, it also lessens the amount of caulking used, which further enhances the cleaner-looking body. Molded composite front and rear caps provide a better look and allow for simpler repairs than aluminum cast corner caps. Protective wire covering for front corner caps reduces potential electrical damage—a new feature specifically developed for the SIGNATURE Body. The SIGNATURE Body also comes equipped with a comprehensive 3- year, 36,000-mile warranty to cover repairs and replacement in the unlikely event a part is found to be defective. Additional 5-year structural warranties covering the roof, wall and floor set the standard as the best warranties in the business. FORMER OPTIONS NOW STANDARD Several optional features are now standard on the SIGNATURE Body, as well. One such feature is LED exterior clearance lights, which save on maintenance by drawing less energy from the chassis every day and reducing the need for bulb replacement down the road. Another is sealed wiring harnesses, which are designed to integrate with the LED lighting system, lowering the likelihood of electrical repairs and maintenance. “We invested considerable time and research working with users who are hardest on van bodies to understand how to make the SIGNATURE Body more durable,” said Bob Besse, Supreme’s director of marketing and product planning. “After identifying the most damage prone areas, we designed the SIGNATURE Body specifically to reduce the most commonly experienced maintenance issues. That was followed by extensive prototype testing, which resulted in substantially better endurance versus less innovative designs. Not only was our SIGNATURE Body tested on the Bosch Proving Grounds, it also underwent other rigorous endurance evaluations, which means we can offer Isuzu customers a significantly better product and know it will withstand the rigors of the road and the load. Simply put, there’s no chance that anyone else in the industry has done the extensive testing that we have.” COMING ATTRACTIONS In Spring 2009, the SIGNATURE Body will also be available in Supreme’s Vanscaper model—a vehicle ideal for the and nurseries—on an N-Series chassis. Supreme recently developed a new marketing brochure for N/W-Series products that provides details for every body upfit, including the SIGNATURE Body. Supreme also revamped its website to include a dealer center site, which was specifically designed for the needs of commercial truck dealers. There’s also a Dealer Information Center for qualifying dealers, details of which are available on the dealer center site. In addition, representatives from Supreme have been providing training at Isuzu dealerships across the country. The training offers an in-depth explanation of the 23 features exclusive to the SIGNATURE Body, and after it’s completed, dealers can log onto the dealer center of Supreme’s website to learn more about the Company’s bodies. They’re also provided with EZ Buttons, which makes web access much easier. Supreme and Isuzu have been partners and offered van body programs for 20 years. We are excited about offering the new Signature Van in the Value Pak program as a price and quality leader. Introducing the “Greenest” Isuzu EverPosted: Monday, February 16, 2009 Categories: N-Series, Diesel engine Isuzu Diesels to employ Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) to meet the strict 2010 Emissions Requirements Emissions standards are only going to get tougher – particularly as they relate to diesel engines. As we have reported in the last few issues, Isuzu is one of the leaders in “green” technology – and now, with the new, more stringent 2010 emissions standards on the horizon, the good news is that future models will use Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology to meet these new standards. In addition, your customers will find that SCR technology is not only good for the environment, it’s also good for their business. Here’s why:
Here’s how SCR works:
In addition, here are some of the environmental benefits of SCR technology:
FYI: When the 2010 EPA standards go into effect, no heavy-duty diesel engine can emit NOx levels higher than .2 g/bhp-hr (grams per brake horsepower-hour), which is a standard more stringent than any in place in Europe. SCR is the only technology to date that has proven to be able to meet this standard. “Isuzu has been developing this technology in Japan for many years. We’ve studied different systems and found SCR to be reliable under even the most extreme applications and conditions. This is just another great example of how Isuzu leads the way in this market,” said Shaun Skinner, Executive Vice President, General Manager, Isuzu Commercial Truck of America. |
